On Friday I decided to give auto buying through Costco a try. It was simple; fill out your Costco number, pick a make and model of car, and submit the request. The dealer, in this case Piercey Toyota of Milpitas, is supposed to contact you within 24 hours. I gave my cell phone number for contact information and hit the send button at about 2:00 PM.
Saturday 2:00 PM rolls around and I’ve received nothing. I double check my missed calls and voice mail logs and no contact was attempted. Well, maybe they meant 24 hours or by the next business day.
Sunday 2:00 PM comes and goes and still nothing from Piercey Toyota. I consider using autoweb.com (I bought my Pathfinder with them) but remember that they also use Piercey Toyota.
Monday 1:00 PM. I’ve decided that Piercey Toyota doesn’t need the business since they haven’t bothered to acknowledge my existence. I use the fleet dealer link on my credit union web site to find someone else who wants to sell a new blue Prius with XM radio.
Update: They just called and gave me a quote. The fleet manager said he was off the past couple of days and just got to me. We’ll be heading up to do a test drive and probably order one.
